Daniel Cardoso is an engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006) and holds a master’s and doctoral degree from COPPE / UFRJ (2009 and 2014). His Ph.D. research was developed at the University of Pittsburgh (USA), where he investigated the structural behavior of fiber-reinforced polymer composites. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), with interest in research on concrete structures and polymer and cement composites. He also has vast of experience in practical engineering, formed from the intense work in the projects of large structures in steel and reinforced concrete in the bridges, ports and industrial areas.
